Last night on Radio One the Brassic beats (get it, Brass-ic) documentary was a overview of the UK ska/punk scene.
It featured many of our friends from the UK scene plus a bit from us and Lil from HHN.
You can listen to the documentary online at the Steve Lurpack web site.
It’s a half hour show and it’s a good introduction to what the UK scene is all about. If you have any friends that don’t really understand why you’re into ska/punk send them to have a listen to this and maybe they’ll get a better idea. This is what it says on the R1 website;
Brassic Beats
Ska-punk broke out of the toilet circuit to blow up on festival stages around the UK this summer. The likes of [Spunge], Capdown, King Prawn and Lightyear are leading the way and could provide real alternative to this year’s US guitar invasion. Vic Galloway hits the road and finds a thriving scene across Britain which exists despite of a severe lack of press or cash!
Also this is a good opportunity for you guys to bug Steve Lurpack to play some more UK punk on his show.
